Responsive Web Design

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just launched a new WordPress-powered website for Stipersones and Corndon Hill Country Landscape Partnership Scheme. Normally we wouldn’t blog about the launch of a new website – but we’re really proud of this one, so it gets a whole post to itself! When we were approached to develop this website by Shropshire Council a couple of months ago, one of the main items on their wish list was for the site to be accessible by as many people as possible. In response, we’ve delivered a website which is both easy-to-use and attractive regardless of the visitor’s screen size or device. By using modern ‘responsive’ design methods, the site scales to fit perfectly on mobile devices and tablet computers – try resizing the site in your web browser to see how smoothly it transitions between desktop, tablet and mobile layout. As well as the benefits of responsive design for visitors to the site, the process of maintaining a responsive website is far easier than on the previous generation of mobile-friendly websites. A few years ago, it was quite common to have two separate mobile and desktop websites which both needed to be changed whenever a site needed updating – this created more work for website administrators. On a responsive website, the content on the mobile site is the same as is used on the desktop and tablet versions of the website, saving lots of time and hassle! If you’d like a responsive website like the one featured in this blog post, please get in touch today, or call us on 01952 462845.
