Tip 3. Set your website up for future success
If you, or your staff, have some spare time right now and want to use some of that time to improve your website so that it performs better in the future, here are a few low- or no-cost suggestions for things you could do.
New images can be a great way to spruce up your site with minimal effort. Although it may not be an appropriate time to book a professional photoshoot, there are lots of great stock photography sites where you can purchase professional images for use on your website at an affordable cost, for example Shutterstock and iStock . Alternatively, if you’re looking for royalty-free stock images, Pexels and Unsplash provide a good range of images for use at no cost.
Is there something you’ve been wanting to get off your chest for a while? Now may be a great time to compose that blog post you’ve planned in your head but not yet found the time to write. Blogs are frequently used for search engine optimisation – by writing about things that people search for online related to your products and services, you could potentially boost your future traffic with a bit of effort now. Not sure what to write about? Try typing the names of your products and services into the Google search box, and see which questions come up as suggested search phrases.
Secure your website
Does your website have an SSL certificate? If not, this may be having a detrimental effect on your organic search engine rankings and may harm public trust in your website. If your site doesn’t have a little padlock next to the domain name in the browser, contact us today for a quote.
Site speed is also known to be a search engine ranking factor. If you’re on our basic hosting package, you may not be aware that we now offer an upgraded ‘Business’ hosting package that performs up to 3 times faster in benchmark tests and includes an SSL certificate. Is your website running a little slow? Get in touch to see how we can help.
