Tip 4 – Claim some free advertising
Both Facebook and Google have announced that they will be providing some free advertising credits to small and medium sized businesses. We don’t have many details yet, but here’s what we can tell you so far:
The social media giant have announced that they are launching a $100M ‘Small Business Grants Program’ which will offer cash grants and advertising credits to small businesses in over 30 countries. That’s all we know so far, but start by registering your interest here and they will be in contact with details once the scheme launches.
Google’s scheme will be for existing advertisers, offering $340 million in Google Ads credits “to all SMBs with active accounts over the past year”. Credit notifications will appear in their Google Ads accounts and can be used at any point until the end of 2020 across our advertising platforms. Reading the terms carefully, it says “Credits will be provided to SMB advertisers that have been active advertisers since Jan 1, 2019 and comply with all Google Ads T&Cs”.
What exactly constitutes an ‘active advertiser’? We’re not sure exactly, but to be on the safe side, if you’ve just turned your Google Ads off to save money, you might want to turn a small amount of advertising spend back on again just to make sure you are going to meet the criteria for this scheme. Just ask, if you need help with that.
