Businesses from across Shropshire have been learning how to get to the top of Google with the help of a county marketing expert.
Helen Culshaw, managing director of Ascendancy in Shifnal, was one of the leading speakers at this month’s Carafair event at Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s Greenhous Stadium. The event attracted businesses from in and around the area and was attended by suppliers and members of the Caradoc Medical Consortium.
Ms Culshaw said: “Getting to the top of Google’s search engine rankings is a big priority for many businesses and it was great to be able to give out some useful advice to those attending Carafair 2015.
“Ten years ago, creating a website and getting found in Google wasn’t so hard to do. “However, with Google striving for quality and authenticity, things have changed and businesses need to be thinking and planning their websites and content much more carefully.
“It’s well known that people don’t tend to look beyond the first four or five listings on a Google search so it’s paramount that business owners do what they can to maximise their presence there.
“For those that missed Carafair, our top tips include planning your content around what visitors search for, and combining search engine optimisation with Google AdWords advertising for maximum coverage.”
In addition to search engine optimisation, Ascendancy also specialises in website design, email marketing and Google Analytics consultancy. It hosts more than 100 websites for businesses in Shropshire and further afield. For more information visit the website at ascendancy.agency or contact 01952 462845.
