The Company

Wrekin Concrete Products – http://www.wrekinconcreteproducts.co.uk/ – is a Telford based company established in 1998, boasting a large range of concrete products such as decking blocks, coping stones and civils and small weight blocks, and garden, fencing and landscape products. Their products are sold to both trade and public from their Ketley premises.

Brief

Following a recent re-design of Wrekin Concrete Products’ website, their traffic had dropped. Due to the nature of their products and clients, they needed to increase traffic quickly as it was having a negative impact on their sales. When they came to Ascendancy, they already had a Google Ads account, but were unable to make the most of it due to a lack of tracking of its performance. Additionally, their organic search engine results had also taken a turn for the worse.

Ascendancy’s brief was to help Wrekin Concrete quickly improve their traffic through the use of Google Ads.

Action

Firstly, we gave their web developer some advice on some simple changes they could make to improve the organic rankings of the site. We then used Google Ads to quickly generate traffic to the site while waiting for the SEO changes to take effect. Investing more money in Google Ads quickly brought Wrekin Concrete Products the traffic and enquiries they needed.

As their enquiries recovered, we were able to reduce their Google Ads spend and focus it on their key products. We were also able to focus on bringing down their cost per click.

Achievements

The graph above shows the instant boost to website traffic provided by Wrekin Concrete’s Google Ads campaign.

Between March and October 2016 we have also been able to bring their cost per click down by 17%, meaning the business are able to get a lot of additional clicks out of the same budget.
