Summary:
Search Engine Optimisation for Beginners is a one day hands-on course suitable for people who have either:
- Never run a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) campaign before; or
- Have been attempting to optimise their website for search engines but come across conflicting advice
This is a practical course where you work, on the day, on the optimisation of your own website – a laptop is required (not a tablet). Ideally, to get full benefit from the course, you should have access to amend your own website and also have a good website statistics package such as Google Analytics – bring along the login details.

- Understand best practice techniques for SEO
- Identify techniques that will have negative effects on SEO
- Research relevant keywords for optimal SEO
- Explore opportunities through competitor analysis
- Develop an SEO action plan for your website

- Choosing the right phrases to target.
- On-site search engine optimisation, including
- Writing keyword-rich copy for search engines
- Internal linking and website structure
- Off-site search engine optimisation: building keyword rich links to your website
- Local search optimisation – improving your ranking for local search phrases using My Business pages, citations & reviews
- Measuring & improving your performance using Google Analytics
